Library: Are you looking for a quiet place to get some work done during your lunch period? The library would like to welcome you to come down with your privilege pass during your lunch, when space is available. You may bring some snacks, a sack lunch or water and eat in the designated places; if you are having hot lunch or lunch ordered in from outside, you will need to eat in the cafeteria first and can then can come to the library to do some work or play a game. TCD Field Trip: Attention Sophomores and Juniors! Come explore Technology Center of DuPage (TCD) on Wednesday, December 5th. Get a head start on college and careers through opportunities with TCD as an elective. If interested, pick up an Explore TCD Field Trip Form from Mrs. McHale in the School Counseling Office and return it to her by November 9th. Pantera Dance Club: Did you ever want to learn how to dance to Latin music? Come learn Salsa, Bachata, Cumbia and other Latin dances at the Pantera Dance Club. We will be meeting this Thursday in the Auditorium. Open to absolutely anyone who wants to have fun. See you there.

 

The Quad: Today for the Grand Opening of “The Quad” we will be offering free lemonade and cookies! The Quad offers math help from peer tutors in all math subjects from Algebra 1, Integrated Algebra/Geometry, Geometry/Trig, Algebra 2 and Algebra 2/Trig! The Quad is open during all lunch periods 4th-7th! Stop by during your lunch period today, meet our amazing Quad Squad tutors, and enjoy some free lemonade and cookies!

 

Math Team: Are you interested in being a member of the Math Team this year? There will be an informational meeting on Wednesday, October 17th, after school in room 2-118. If you have any questions, contact Mr. Boyd, Mrs. Jungmann, or Mr. Pavlakis. Hope to see you there!

 

Chess Club: Chess club is seeking players to join our team. We will meet on Wednesday 10/17/18 at 2:30 in room 2322. See Mr. DeLap if you have any questions.

 

Movie Club: Do you like watching movies? Do you like talking about movies you’ve watched? Then join the Glenbard North Movie Club. Interested students should attend an informational meeting this Thursday after school in room 2-243 or contact Mr. Carey in the social studies department.

 

Yearbook Retakes: Do you need a Do-over? Yearbook Picture Retakes for Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, Faculty, and Staff will take place TODAY, Monday, October 15th outside the student cafeteria during all lunch periods.

 

Yearbook: SENIORS! Your last chance to be photographed for the Yearbook is THIS Friday, October 19th. A photographer will be available during all lunch periods just outside the student cafeteria. It’s free and fast, so don’t miss out!

 

Girls Basketball: There will be a short informational meeting, Wednesday, Oct 17, in Room 2304. All girls planning to try out for basketball must attend this meeting. Girls Basketball will begin on October 29th. All players must register through the parent portal of Power School. Once completed bring a current physical to the Athletic Office and pick up your gold card. No gold card = no tryout.

 

Boys Soccer: Come out to Chipotle and support the Boys Soccer Team Tuesday October 16th from 5:00-9:00pm. 396 West Army Trail Rd., Bloomingdale, IL 60108 Be sure to mention that you are there for the Glenbard North Boys Soccer Fundraiser! 33% of all orders will go back to the Boys Soccer program.

 

Girls Cross Country: Congratulations to the Girls Cross-Country team on their performance at the inaugural DuKane Conference Championship. The Varsity team’s 8th place score was led by Elelta Sisay’s 29th place finish. The JV team placed 6th, led by Sam Ferengul in 24th place and the Frosh/Soph team placed 5th, led by Riley Hernandez in 9th place. Great job, Ladies! The JV team competes tomorrow at Palatine while the Varsity team races Saturday at the IHSA Regional Championship. Good luck Ladies!

 

Girls Tennis: Congratulations to the girls tennis team on a fantastic end to their season. Last week at the conference tournament Emily and Marina placed 4th for JV2 #1 doubles, Kayla and Jessica placed 5th for JV #1 doubles, and Sage Hills placed 4th for varsity #1 singles. This weekend varsity competed at sectionals, and placed 4th out of 10 teams. Sage Hills placed 4th at #1 singles and qualified for the State tournament! Way to go girls!

 

SADD: October is bullying prevention awareness month. Please join SADD in standing up to bullies. SADD is selling t-shirts in the cafeteria during all lunches all week. These blue t-shirts read “Be a buddy not a bully” and are $6 each. We will wear these t-shirts on Tuesday October 23rd. Let’s show Carol Stream and the Glenbard community that we will stand up to bullying.

 

Student Council: Homecoming 2018 is in the books and we need to look ahead to Homecoming 2019, please come to room 1120 after school ln Thursday to recap Homecoming 2018 and look ahead to the rest of the year.

 

 

Club Interact: Our next meeting is on Tuesday, October 16th, in the Faculty Cafeteria starting at 2:45. We will be discussing plans for the Giving Tree, an all-school event in which we collect gifts for more than 300 domestically abused children. In addition, this will be our final day to turn in permission forms for our volunteer trip on Friday, October 19th, where we package food to support Kids Against Hunger. We need as many volunteers as possible to support these two worthwhile events.
