Boys Cross Country: Congratulations to the boys cross country team in their efforts at this past weekends IHSA Regional Cross Country Invitational. Special mention to following athletes in their performances. Logan Alwan, Jack Martinez, Jakson Moses, Connor Sisco, Fiaazan Haq, Ryan Murcia, and Robby Lubas.

The Panther Closet: Are you in need of a winter coat? Tired of wearing the same hoodie? Do you love thrifting? The Panther Closet is the place for you! Located in the student cafeteria, the Panther Closet is open to all students and staff at Glenbard North. We have coats, jeans, shirts, shoes, sweaters, and more — and everything is FREE! We are open Wednesdays before school (7:00-7:30 AM) or by appointment. To make an appointment, fill out the Google Form attached. Contact Ms. Buck-Castaneda or Ms. DiLeonardi with any questions.

Wrestling: Girl’s Wrestling: For those interested there will be an informational meeting Thursday, October 27th @ 1:15 PM in the varsity wrestling room. NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED AND EVERYONE IS WELCOME!! 

Girls Cross-Country: Congratulations to the Girls Cross-Country team who competed at the IHSA Regional Championship this past Saturday at Settlers Hill. A special congratulations to Grace Schager who won the Regional with a course record time of 16:38. Grace will compete this Saturday at the Lake Park Sectional. Good luck Grace!

The North Current – student newspaper: How familiar are you with the Glenbard North campus? Test your skills with the newspaper club’s new Glenbard Guesser game. Head over to our website, find the Glenbard Guesser, and guess where on campus the photo was taken. Hint:  The photo was taken somewhere in the building that is accessible to all students.  The first student to guess correctly wins a Dunkin’ gift card! 

SADD: Today is the beginning of Red Ribbon Week. During this week SADD is spreading awareness to celebrate life and to encourage everyone to live drug-free. This year’s theme is Celebrate Life, Live Drug Free. By choosing to live drug free, you are sending a message to yourself and others that you value your life. One thing is certain, by living drug free, you will be more likely to achieve your goals! Be on the lookout for flyers around school and on the TV screens, posts on social media, and ribbons on trees to remind you to live drug free. Don’t forget to be on the lookout for trivia questions during lunch periods to win free stickers and lanyards!

Boys basketball:  If you are interested in trying out for Boys Basketball, we will have a MANDATORY PRE-SEASON MEETING next Tuesday 10/25 @ 2:45pm in the cardio room (old weight room upstairs). Important materials and information will be given at this meeting to ensure that you are able to try out on Nov. 7th.

Club Interact:  Now is the time to give Glenbard! Please drop off your food and toiletry donations to door 1 now through Friday, November 4th!!   

Scholastic Bowl: Congratulations to the Panther JV Quiz Bowl team, which, after initially dropping last-second losses to two top teams, managed to win their next 4 matches in a row at the 22-23 Wheaton North Falcon Classic. Freshman Ishanth Dontha and sophomores Maddie Paulien and Madalyn Cook led the attack, connecting on 4.00, 3.74, and 2.60 hits per match, respectively. Way to go, Panthers!

The Write Place:   Feeling spooky, GBN? Spooky season is upon us and to start the season off right, The Write Place needs your help to complete The Mystery of Harris Burdick’s Stories! Peter Wenders is looking for someone to finish the last story of Harris Burdick–a mysterious man that left his work behind and was never heard from again. Look for our promotional fliers around the school to scan the QR code to our google form for more information about your task and to submit your entry. The best story will receive a gift card and a special spooky gift from The Write Place! You must submit your story via the google form by Monday, October 31st at 2:30pm. Let’s get spooky, GBN!

Woodworking Club: Hey Anyone who is interested in joining woods club, please come to the woodshop on Tuesdays to build personal projects or come and learn how to use the machines so you can help build projects for the school! Hope to see you in room1570!

Wrestling: The wrestling team is hosting open mats every Tuesday and Thursday night from 6:00PM-7:15PM until the start of the season on November 7th. Everyone is welcome to come and there is no experience needed. We will also be starting a girls program this year so any girls that are interested in wrestling please come to open mats every Tuesday and Thursday night.
